Q: How long does the program go for?
The full Transformations program runs for a minimum of 12 months with each stage 3 months long. Residents are able to leave the program at any stage however we recommend finishing the entire program as this increasing the likelihood of sustained recovery.
Q: Can I do outpatient treatment?
At this point in time we do not offer a formal outpatient treatment program.
Q: Can I still have regular contact with my family/children?
We encourage regular contact with children and family members from a residents ‘safe list’ with the exception of the first two weeks of the program. In some cases short phone calls can be made to young children in the first two weeks and will be assessed on admission.
Q: Do I have my own room?
Residents will be sharing a room with one to three other people depending on numbers.
Q: Can I bring my pet in?
Unfortunately we cannot allow pets into the program.
Q: Can I get a letter for court?
If you have been accepted into the program our Case Managers can provide an acceptance letter detailing the program outline and capacity to work in with the justice system. Please be aware that the Transformations Program will only work if you are internally motivated to change.
Q: Can I bring my mobile phone?
You can bring in your phone however you will not be able to have it on your person until stage three. Your phone will be kept in a safe which you are able to access in earlier stages through meeting requests.
Q: Can you help with my court issues?
Upon acceptance into the Program our Case Managers will work with you on a holistic level which includes assistance with legal matters. In the case of court matters needing to be handled interstate it is recommended that you deal with the matter before coming in unless you are allowed to deal with it through video link.
Q: Do males and females live together?
No, females and males live in separate residences however there are parts of the program on campus, such as informational classes, where males and females are in the same space. Most parts of the program are separate.
Q: Am I able to smoke?
Smoking cigarettes is allowed however to progress to Stage Three Residents must give up smoking. Our Case Managers will work with you at the appropriate time to help you quit.
Q: Can I bring my car?
We don’t not encourage Residents to bring their car as they are not allowed to drive personal vehicles until Stage Three.
Q: What about my medication?
Our Resident Leaders will hold on to your medication and give you your medication to take at the same time morning or night. Some medication may be on our prohibited list and alternatives may need to be prescribed from your doctor prior to entering the Program.
Q: Do I need to detox first?
Yes you must be 7 days clean upon entering the program and we do require a clean UT on entry.
Q: Are there age restrictions?
You must be over the age of 18 to be admitted to the Transformations Program.
Q: Do I have to be a Christian?
You do not have to be a ‘Christian’ to be a part of the Transformations Program. Our program is faith supported and we do encourage Residents to consider the idea of a higher power to help them through recovery, much like 12 Step Programs do.
Q: How much does it cost?
Our Program fees are based on 80% of your Centrelink payments. This amounts to $565 for those on job seeker, $800 for DSP and $480 for youth allowance.
Q: What If I’m pregnant?
This is assessed on a case by case basis depending on the stage of pregnancy.
Q: Can I still have my pain management meds?
We allow Residents to take panadol, ibuprophen or anti-inflammatories. We do not allow Lyrica or Opioids whilst in the Program.
Q: Can I come in and still use maintenance drugs like methadone or saboxone?
No, we are an abstinence based Program rather than a maintenance Program.
Q: Can I still have my ADD/ADHD medication
We do not allow stimulant medication however there are alternatives such as Strattera. If in doubt please check in with our Case Managers during the admission process.
