Our Story

Transformations was founded on the Gold Coast in 1999 by CEO and former drug addict Michael Barrett. Being set free from long term addiction himself, Michael had a dream in his heart to use his own experience and knowledge to help his fellow addicts find real freedom. Starting with a small halfway house in Surfers Paradise Michael began the journey of creating a safe space for addicts to find love, purpose and hope. Over the next 10 years Transformations developed a holistic, evidence based program with the capacity to turn broken lives around breaking the cycle of addiction for good.

Locations

The Transformations program currently operates in Cowra, Gold Coast, Hervey Bay, Hobart and Melbourne. Between these four locations Transformations can accommodate 95 people in its signature Residential Recovery Program.

Today we need programs like Transformations more than ever before. In 2019, 3.4 million Australians reporting using illicit drugs. Over the past 20+ years hundreds of people have been able to break the cycle of addiction through the Transformations program and go on to live healthy purpose-filled lives.

We know that with the right help any life can be transformed.
