Our mission is to see people set free from addiction and equipped to live healthy purpose filled lives. We achieve this mission through partnering with faith based organisations to run our signature residential program in specific locations throughout Australia.
The Transformations™ Difference
Our approach to recovery is unique. We take individuals in active addiction and place them by the side of those in recovery. Our holistic model empowers program participants to address the core reasons behind their addictions.
These components support a result-proven program helping set people free from addiction.
Faith supported
For a person to fully recover, four elements need to be addressed - biological, psychological, social & spiritual.
The spiritual component of the Transformations program comes from a Christian faith perspective. Like other evidence-based programs, such as 12 Steps within Alcoholics Anonymous, we point residents towards a higher power relationship.
Evidence based
This model is evidence-based and is why Transformations has been delivering positive results for over 20 years.
Founded on a therapeutic community model and supported by individualised case management, group therapy and psychoeducation curriculum, Transformations helps clients address the core reasons behind their addictions.
Community funded
We are funded by the generosity of like-minded people, businesses, and organisations who connect with our mission.
Transformations is a non-government funded charity supported by those who are motivated to address others' needs within their community. 1 in 3 Families are affected by addiction; our work is funded by those who want to help us address this social issue. Without the support of others, we can't exist.
The Drug and Alcohol Issue
1 in 3 Australian's reported using illicit drugs, and 1 person dies every 90 minutes from an alcohol attributed disease.1 Drug and alcohol use disorder is a complex condition that manifests itself by excessive use of harmful substances despite the known effects. Over the past 20 years, our experience has revealed that addictions are linked to trauma, abuse, and an inability to deal with life's challenges.
The Transformations™ Program is part of the solution to this global epidemic.
Peer to peer
We offer Peer-to-Peer Support through a Therapeutic Community Model.
This model encourages addicts to take personal responsibility for their behaviours and the impact they have on others. Through self-help and mutual support, the peer community promotes ongoing personal change and accountability. This approach is effective as it focuses on the whole person, including lifestyle changes, not just abstinence from the addiction.
Individualised treatment
Our Program is tailored to each individual for optimal success.
We value the individuality of each resident. We use a client-centric, collaborative approach that focuses on the unique needs of each person. Each Treatment Plan is recovery orientated and connects to the intrinsic motivations and goals of each resident.
Psychoeducation curriculum
We provide collaborative education on the impact and consequences of substance abuse.
Our psychoeducation groups focus on educating residents about their addiction disorders and coping mechanisms, providing tools for lasting recovery. The curriculum includes goal setting, healthy living problem-solving, mindfulness, nutrition and relapse prevention.
