About Cowra Transformations
Transformations Central NSW is located in Cowra. Cowra is a beautiful peaceful small country town with a population of 10,000 and a great location for quiet recovery. Transformations Cowra can accommodate up to 10 men in their program. There are four stages of the program and several key staff have themselves been through the Transformations Program. Once in stage one, Residents may sign out during their lunch break and free time to visit safe places such as the pool, river or shops (all in walking distance of the program).
Michael Golden - Central NSW Campus Director
Michael has over 10 years experience working in the AOD sector including 5 years working in residential AOD programs and 3 years with NSW Health as an AOD counsellor. Michael also served as Assistant Director of Counselling Services with the Salvation Army for 3 years. He holds degrees in both Theology and Social Science and Welfare as well as a Graduate Diploma in Counselling. Michael is passionate about recovery and seeing the Transformations Program flourish in NSW.
What does the Program include?

Health Support through local GPs
You will see a GP shortly after you arrive, who will prepare a Care Plan with you -
Case management
Our Case Managers will work collaboratively with you to set goals throughout and after the Program -
Fitness
There are various fitness activities included in your weekly timetable, such as walks and exercise sessions -
Individual counselling
Where appropriate, we will connect you with a counsellor, therapist or psychologist who specialise in trauma and addiction recovery -
Group Therapy
Including Process Group, Feelings Group, Community Council and Reflections Group -
Program Curriculum
We offer a specialised curriculum to help you through the recovery process (Optimal Healthy Living) -
Work Therapy
You will learn life skills through participating in cleaning, cooking, yard work, shopping and basic organisational tasks.
Smoking is allowed in restricted outside areas until Stage Three
